Hey y’all!
Kate and I go way back to her days in Texas. We became fast friends; I would babysit for
her and her husband every now and then.
We would have weekly game nights at their house and have yummy queso and
chips with brownies on the side. Kate
and her husband were a shining example in my life for what a husband and wife
should be and also a great example of how I wanted to raise my children. Don’t you just love when you meet someone
that leaves a footprint on your heart?
That is what Kate and her family did for me. I just love them!
I am here today to share my weight loss journey with
you. I am just so excited to share that
and my new found love for AdvoCare with you all.
My husband, Roy, and I had our first baby three (almost four)
years ago. I was already out of shape
when I got pregnant and let me just be honest with you, it only went downhill
for me from there. I gained over 50
pounds during my pregnancy. I lost about
30 afterwards but, I never got into the habit of eating healthy and
exercising. Let me tell you, that caught
up with me fast.
In March of this year I found myself the Mama of an active 3
year old, I was almost busting out of my “big clothes” and I was
miserable. So miserable! I was so mean to my husband (sorry honey!),
every time we would have to go anywhere outside of the house I would change 4-5
times and hate the way I looked every single time. By the time I finally chose something to wear I was so angry about how I felt and
looked that I was snappy and short with my husband and our son.
I read a couple of “weight loss/fitness blogs” and I was
always irritated with their writers. I
would think things like, “Must be nice that she can get off at 4 and
workout. I don’t have that luxury.” And
“maybe if I could afford a gym membership I could look like that!”. The problem was not what I could not do, the
problem was what I was refusing to do. I
was refusing to make the changes I needed to be where I wanted to be. As my Mama would say, I needed to change my
evil ways.
On those two blogs I started hearing about AdvoCare and
thought, “Hmmm, maybe I will check this out.”
I looked into the company and the product and decided that I was doing
the AdvoCare 24 day challenge. I even
got two of my friends to do it with me, I figured it would be easier on us if
we did it together. I needed something
to jumpstart my weight loss journey. Up
to this point I was a pro at starting something without sticking with it. We started the 10 Day cleanse portion of the
challenge on March 4th. By
day 2 of the cleanse I felt so amazing I knew that AdvoCare would be a part of
my life forever! In that 24 day
challenge I lost 14 pounds, kicked my coffee habit, gained energy, and felt so
much better than I had in a LONG time.
I am currently doing my second 24 day challenge and my
husband has jumped on board this time as well.
Yesterday was the end of our 10 day cleanse portion of the
challenge. Roy ate clean and stayed away
from flour, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, and sugar for 10 days along with some
exercise & has lost 11 pounds, lost .5 inches off his arms, and lost .75
inches off his waist. I ate clean and
stayed away from the same (no flour, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, and sugar) and I
also worked out 8 out of 10 days & have lost 8 pounds, lost 2.5 inches on
my waist, and lost 3 inches on my thighs.
I have a huge smile on my face as I write this! When I started the challenge I was wearing a
size 18 and today I tried on a new pair of size 16’s and not only do they fit, they
could fall off me any day now (fingers crossed!).
Roy and I have removed our bad habits and have started new
healthy habits with AdvoCare. I am down
22 pounds since March 4th and will be down another 20, if not more,
before I do my next challenge in September.
Not only is eating healthy now a part of our daily life but, I now find
myself excited to get off work and go workout.
What? Who am I?
